It has five tenses, three modes, two voices, two conjugations for verbs, and three declensions with five cases for nouns. Its constituent order is generally SOV.
This grammar sketch is of the “standard” dialect (the most widely spoken and well-known) of Gotevian, but it also exists in several other dialects: tjael (Eastern), kɛra (Western), tiorri, mɛra, and dassa.
Genetically, Gotevian is closely related to Teg, Lomi, and Phul, who all share with it a common ancestor in Ankesimtoh.
